Mid-West Camp

Sunday March 18 @ 7pm

First meeting about Mid-West Camp

July 21-27, 2008 at Huntington University in Huntington, Indiana

What is Midwest Camp?  A week long family camp dedicated to God's Word, worship and fellowship for all ages.  Mornings are filled with classes and special forums where we can explore God's Word in more depth and intensity.  Afternoons are free time filled with fellowship, tennis, swimming, racquetball and special activities for children.  Evening services allow us to, once again, explore God's Word and then respond with our heart-felt worship.

This year at camp, our church is responsible to lead the teen department.  The teens and college age at  camp makes over 1/3 of those attending camp and makes up the vast majority of those who make commitments for Christ.  So the responsibility is a great one and it's worthy of our best efforts.

Pastor Brad will be heading up finding teachers and forums for camp as well as the Teen Singspiration each evening.  But leave some responsibilities to be filled:

Teen Counselors - they usually sleep in the teen dorm and provide a devotional time for a small group of teens each evening.

Sports & Recreation Directors - during free time, there are many activities and tournaments provided for those who enjoy the competition of athletics at camp.  These individuals decide what to provide for both adults and young children, prepare brackets for tournaments, and make announcements of each day's activities.

Dean's of Men & Women - These positions are leaders of the many counselors who work with the teens.  If there are disciplinary problems within the teen department, the deans would be called on and the provide security to ensure the teens are in their rooms shortly after curfew.
